I was born to a middle-class family in a rich country in the late 20th century. This makes me one of the luckiest people ever to have lived. My acute awareness of this fact informs my writing, my politics, and my life. I try to make the most of my incredible situation by working to create the sort of world in which it would be less unusual.
I mostly write about politics, philosophy, religion, and the environment, but don’t be surprised to see some drastic deviations from this formula. The world is a big place.
Day-to-day, I walk a slightly awkward line between digital media geekdom (I work as a freelance photographer, graphic designer, and web designer) and ivory tower intellectualism (I’m currently in the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of York, and read Habermas out of choice). If anyone can think of a good way to combine these pursuits, I’d love to hear from them.
